‘Faster’ UK Visit Visa Service Reaches Over 180 Countries
A new digital visit visa service for the UK is now available worldwide.
The Home Office first introduced the new digital application service in China in 2014 and since then has spent the last two years taking it to more than 180 countries in 10 different languages.
Access UK means visa customers can complete applications faster using an online form and can even apply through their mobile phones, according to the Home Office.
The process also includes a checklist for the required documents.
The service is for those applying for a standard visitor visa (marriage and civil partnership) or Visitor (Permitted Paid Engagement) visa.
Simon Peachey, UK Visas and Immigration’s director of International Visa Operations, said: “I’m delighted to report that this global roll-out has been achieved on time and without compromising on the quality of the service.”
He added: “The service will be rolled out to a further 13 lower volume locations over the coming weeks. Locations such as the Falkland Islands have unique application processes and are not yet able to use Access UK.”
The service, which has received more than 500,000 visit visa applications so far, replaces the Visa4UK process.
The average processing time for the visa last year was 6 working days.
